Symptoms

In order to identify a vaginal infection, it is important to understand its symptoms.

What you see?

Do you produce a transparent or white vaginal fluid? If you do, then your vagina is healthy. If it’s any other colour, then you probably have an infection.

Normal vaginal secretion has important functions: an effective lubricant during sex, and an essential part of the vagina’s natural defence cycle and its well-balanced environment.

Abnormal vaginal secretion is a visible effect of the harmful bacteria present in the vagina.

What you smell?

Along with colour changes in the vaginal secretion, a strong smell is an indicator of a vaginal infection. The smell may vary from mild to extreme, depending on the seriousness of the vagina’s condition.

What you feel?

Any pain, itchiness or noticeable discomfort could indicate an infection.

If you have any or all of the symptoms of a vaginal infection, please consult your healthcare professional.
